I have a Microsoft Intellipoint Optical mouse. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers directly from Microsoft. Everything worked perfect until I tried to set up the extra Install completely different mouse (Logitech track ball), remove all other mouse drivers, re-install Intellipoint mouse and drivers.

New Intellimouse Drivers from MS
It appears that installing this (IntelliPoint) driver will cause the tablet PC's pen/touchscreen driver to cease wrking. That would be bad. Does anyone have any direct experience with this? Is it as it appears - you can either have a wireless mouse, or a functioning Tablet PC screen, but not both?

Intellipoint Mouse
When I created it and copied those two files into it, the Intellipoint 4.0 installer finally went to completion -- and worked with my new mouse. One thing: the installer warned me that the mouse driver (which it had installed, I presume) did not have a digital signature and might be dangerous.

After trying all the usual suspects (video drivers, etc.), I realized that the problems seem to have started right around the time the Intellipoint mouse was first installed. If anybody has any ideas why there are two entries in the Device listing -- one of which is bad -- I'd appreciate any help. Thanks -- --Nick.

Running the downloaded driver file does NOT install the Intellipoint software, although it appears to. In Control Panal > Mouse I selected update driver and pointed it to the first directory that wasn't "grayed"
